About Radioamateur.today
A daily front page for radio amateurs worldwide: what manufacturers, IARU member societies, DX and contest groups and satellite organisations published today, yesterday and the day before.
How it works
- Every hour we check the public news feeds and news pages of 65 sources.
- For each new story we show the original headline, the publisher, the date, and a short summary (at most about 40 words) that says what the story is about and why a ham might care.
- Summaries are written by an AI language model (Anthropic's Claude) from the headline and the opening of the story, with instructions to use its own words and not to add facts. They can be wrong — the original is always one click away.
- Stories in other languages keep their original headline, with an English rendering and summary.
- Each day becomes an edition in the archive.
We point to the news; we don't republish it
We never copy article text, photos or logos. Every story links to the original publisher, who deserves your visit. No tracking, no cookies, no third-party scripts.
Band-condition figures come from the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (public domain). The “15–10 m / 80–40 m” labels are a simple rule of thumb from the solar flux and K-index, not a forecast.
Contest calendar
The contest calendar is our own list. For each contest we store only facts (name, sponsor, dates and times, modes, bands) and link to the sponsor's official rules, which we check every month. Entries we couldn't confirm on the sponsor's page are marked “unconfirmed”. Missing a contest, or found a wrong date? Email us.
DX cluster
The DX cluster tab shows live spots via HamQTH.com by OK2CQR, using its free public API. Your browser asks HamQTH for the latest spots every 30 seconds while the tab is open (it pauses when the tab is hidden); we don't store or copy them.
Accessibility
Use the A− / A / A+ buttons at the top of every page to make the text smaller or larger (90–150 %). The site remembers your choice on this device.
For publishers
Our crawler identifies itself as RadioamateurTodayBot, respects robots.txt, fetches only feeds and news-list pages, at most once an hour. If you'd rather not be included, or something we wrote about your story is wrong, email — we'll fix or remove it quickly.
Advertise on Radioamateur.today
Some pages carry a small ad: a card next to or between the stories, and a slim banner on the contest calendar and the DX cluster. Ads are clearly labelled: “From the maker of this site” for our own apps, “Sponsored” for paid ones. They are plain images and links, served from this site: no tracking, no cookies, no third-party scripts, at most two per page. Want to reach radio amateurs with your product, club or event? Email .
