Delegates from 38 countries met in Vienna from 19 to 23 September for the 27th IARU Region 1 General Conference, discussing frequency allocations and cross-border guidelines. A new executive committee under PB2T was seated, and USKA sent three delegates.

The week 40 propagation outlook gives HF MUF from about 10 MHz at night to around 24 MHz by day, with rain scatter chances on microwave bands. Meteor scatter and aurora look quiet, and EME losses are decreasing.
